Association of Book Publishers of BC launches video to showcase BC’s literary landscape during the Frankfurt Book Fair

To mark the start of the 2021 Frankfurt Book Fair, at which Canada is the Guest of Honour, the Association of Book Publishers of British Columbia (ABPBC) is launching a short feature video that showcases the BC book publishing community to the world. Featuring local publishers, authors, bookstores, libraries, and festivals, the video highlights the vibrant community that make up our province’s literary landscape.

The video was produced by Chris Wheeler for the ABPBC, with the financial support of the Province of British Columbia through Creative BC.

Between Oct. 20–24, visit the ABPBC at the 2021 Frankfurt Book Fair on the Canada Stand at Booth 6.0/B86 , shared with the Book Publishers Association of Alberta. The two associations have also collaborated to publish Read Western Canada, an online rights catalogue featuring titles from Alberta and British Columbia with international rights available.

The Frankfurter Buchmesse (Frankfurt Book Fair) is the largest gathering of publishing industry professionals in the world and the most important international marketplace for content. The 73rd edition of the Frankfurter Buchmesse takes place from October 20-24, 2021. Each year, the Frankfurter Buchmesse features a country as its Guest of Honour, who is given the opportunity to showcase its literature and culture at the Fair, in the city of Frankfurt and other regions in Germany. Throughout the year, Guest of Honour activities and cultural events are also presented, with a wide variety of literary events; art and cultural exhibitions; performing arts presentations; and film programs to promote the talent and diversity of its creators.
